Counts, lure health and battery are read over Bluetooth or on the console. There is no glue board to examine and no lid to lift, so units stay in place for the full lure year.

Crawling insects do not fly into a trap. They walk in, the way they walk into a crack in the skirting. Everything after that is measurement.
The gates count them
Each corner is an entry channel with an infrared gate across it. An insect breaks the beam, the firmware filters the event, and the count increases by one.
The radio reports
Bluetooth for the technician on site. LoRaWAN for the hotel, mill or housing block that cannot visit every room every day.

The console lists each unit by room, with its species colour, the count since it was last cleared, and the lure health as a percentage. A room at zero needs no visit. A room that rose overnight does, and when it spreads to a neighbour the app shows the spread as a spread.
Alerts are limited to what changes a decision: first activity after a quiet period, a count above your threshold, lure health low, battery low, unit silent.
Why the count can be trusted.
A number is only useful if it is the same number a technician would have found. These are the things that make it so.
One crawl, one count
Beam breaks are debounced in firmware so a lingering antenna does not become ten insects. Per-corner diagnostics are available when a count looks wrong.
Timestamped and exportable
Every event carries a time. The console exports counts as CSV, so the record lives in your file, not ours.
Health, not silence
Units report battery and gate health with every uplink. A quiet room and a dead unit look different on the console.
Counts survive outages
If the gateway is down, counts are held in local memory and sent when it returns. Nothing is lost to a network fault.
