Stand in the room and open the app. The number is there, with how much scent is left. Zero means the room is quiet. A rise overnight means it is time to act.

You never need to lift it or look inside. The count is on your phone, and the only time you open it is to change the scent cartridge once a year.

There is no hub and no Wi-Fi to configure. The box talks to your phone over Bluetooth when you are near it. You see the count, how much scent is left, and whether the box is awake.
Hotels and warehouses add a longer-range radio so a whole building reports at once. At home you will not need it.
