For Cimex lectularius and related bed bugs. An aggregation lure in the lid, optical gates in the four corners, and a housing that sits where they travel: bed legs, headboards, luggage racks, sofa bases.
Why a gate rather than a glue board under the bed
Bed bugs are nocturnal, cryptic and expensive when found late. Interceptors and glue boards work, but they require someone to get on the floor and look. In a 200-room property that is a shift of housekeeping time. Across housing stock it is a visit that rarely happens.
This monitor draws with an aggregation lure, the chemical signal bed bugs use to find one another, and counts the ones that walk a corner. The number is on the console before anyone strips a mattress, and the unit itself is never lifted or opened.
It does not end an infestation. It tells you which room started, and whether last week's heat or steam treatment actually finished it.

Post-treatment evidence
After heat, steam or a chemical treatment, leave the unit in place. A run of zero counts over the remaining lure life is the evidence for the file.
Housing stock
Void properties and reported rooms first. With LoRaWAN, a housing officer does not need a key for a weekly check.
Shelters and hostels
High turnover, shared furniture, and no place for visible glue boards. Burgundy sits dark against most bed frames. White sits against linen.
