Silverfish monitor
The grey box goes on the bathroom skirting, behind the bookcase, or in the airing cupboard. Silverfish follow the scent. The gates count them as they enter.
They eat the glue in the books and the paper on the wall.
Damage is slow and ugly. A count is cheaper than a redecorated wall or a ruined shelf of books.
